I believe everyone is a musician and that everyone, with the proper scaffolding, can grow their musical talents. I work hard to build healthy, happy, and honest connections with my music students. They know that I will always be positive and find the good in their performances while at the same time gently giving them honest feedback to help them improve. There is always a high level of trust and kindness in my classroom, which is a place of possibility, support, and inspiration, as well as persistence and resilience. I believe that all genres are equally valid expressions of music, and I stress the passion and sincerity of the music, whether it is the traditional music classes of band and choir or my more contemporary classes of rock band, electronic music production, guitar, singing and songwriting.
