| Create a GarageBand Loop Project / Electronic Music Production |
| Description: Use GarageBand (or DAW of your choice) to create an original piece of music in the genre of your choice. One aspect of this project will be to supply Mr. E with a song of inspiration that is in the style in which you are producing. |
| Timeframe: The amount of time this project takes is dependent on how grand your vision is: a simple song or an entire symphony! |
| Create a Concert Poster/CD Cover/Song Artwork |
| Description: Using the medium of your choice (Canva, Photoshop, paper and ink), you will create an original piece of artwork (or CD cover or concert poster) for a band or song of your choice. You will submit the artwork and a few sentences of explanation to Mr. E for your evaluation. |
| Timeframe: The time this project takes depends on the size of your artistic vision. |
| Family Member Music Interview |
| Description: For this project, you’ll interview a family member of your choice about their favorite songs and types of music, plus any memories they have of these songs. Then, you’ll listen to these songs while thinking about your family member. Finally, you’ll create some tangible manifestation of this process: maybe write a letter to the family member with your thoughts about their favorite songs or a piece of artwork for the family member that represents them and their songs. |
| Timeframe: This project should take between four and six class periods. |
| Write an original song: instrumental or with lyrics |
| Description: For this project, you will write an original song of several sections in length, maybe even with lyrics. For your evaluation, you can submit to Mr. E the written manuscript of your song or better yet, a demo performance of your song. |
| Timeframe: This project should take four to five class periods. |
| Create an Animatic for a Song |
| Description: For this project, you would use your art skills to create an animatic for a song that already exists. For this project, you would use a drawing or animation program to create the video, and you would submit this video for your evaluation. |
| Timeframe: The timeframe for this project is based on how grand your vision is. |
